The Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) is pleased to announce the additions of Darrell L. Bock, Nadine Maenza, and Paul Marshall to its Board of Directors. IGE believes that their world-class expertise and experience, along with their spiritual leadership, will strengthen IGE’s mission to catalyze freedom of faith worldwide.

Professor Darrell Bock is a Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, as well as the Executive Director of Cultural Engagement for the Howard G. Hendricks Center for Christian Leadership and Cultural Engagement. Bock is a prolific writer, with special fields of study focusing on hermeneutics as well as the integration of theology and culture. On joining IGE’s board, Bock shares, “Meaningful engagement in the world is a must in these challenging times and IGE is an organization that shows a global concern for how to do it.”

Ms. Nadine Maenza is a noted speaker, writer, and policy expert with more than two decades of experience as an advocate for working families and a champion for international religious freedom. She is currently serving her second term on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. With a strong background working to stop religious persecution around the world, Maenza has worked with several major organizations on faith engagement, policy development, and strategic partnerships. “I became a fan of the Institute for Global Engagement after seeing the impact of their work on the ground, where they have literally moved countries towards more open religious freedom conditions. I am beyond excited to join their Board of Directors and be a part of this important work!”

Professor Paul Marshall is the Wilson Professor of Religious Freedom and Research Professor in Political Science at Baylor University as well as a Senior Fellow at both the Hudson Institute and the Leimena Institute in Jakarta, Indonesia. An author and editor of more than 20 books on religion and politics, especially religious freedom, as well as a frequent columnist, Marshall has been involved with various IGE programs over the years, culminating in his Board tenure.  “There is a proverb that says, ‘It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.’ IGE lights candles and that is why I am very honored to be associated with this organization.”

Board Chair Marji Hughes shared, “I am proud of the steady progress IGE has made internationally toward catalyzing freedom of faith. I am also proud of the growth we have seen domestically in terms of IGE’s networking, fundraising, and overall brand awareness. No doubt the addition of these three key religious freedom advocates will further propel IGE forward; I look forward to continuing to steward IGE with my new colleagues.”
