Modern Papal Diplomacy and Social Teaching in World Affairs

  • Edited by Mariano Barbato, Robert Joustra, and Dennis R. Hoover
  • June 25, 2019

IGE is pleased to announce the release of Modern Papal Diplomacy and Social Teaching in World Affairs (Routledge 2019), a new book sponsored by The Review of Faith & International Affairs and co-edited by Mariano Barbato (University of Passau), Robert Joustra (Redeemer University College), and Dennis R. Hoover (The Review of Faith & International Affairs). This book demonstrates that, contrary to secularization theory, the papacy is not in decline in world politics. Since World War II, the Holy See has played a steadily increasing role in international relations. In this volume, the authors document the legacies of John Paul II and Benedict XVI as well as the current pontificate of Pope Francis from a wide range of perspectives.
