Evangelicals: Populists or Internationalists?

  • Volume 17, No. 3, Fall 2019
  • September 3, 2019

The fall 2019 issue of The Review of Faith & International Affairs, titled “Evangelicals: Populists or Internationalists?”, examines two sharply contrasting narratives of the politics of white evangelicals in the United States. One narrative describes white evangelicals as right-wing anti-globalist populists, while the other describes them as humanitarian internationalists. This special issue of the journal is part of a larger project co-directed by Kevin den Dulk, Robert J. Joustra, and Dennis R. Hoover. It is supported with funding from the Initiative Grants Program of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, and from the Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity & Politics at Calvin College.
