On 19 July the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Caucusalong with the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission will cosponsor an event focusing on current trends in the Middle East and the implications for religious minorities.

The Middle East faces much political and social transition and it is critical for the U.S. to encourage religious freedom and respect for pluralism at this point in history.

Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, Chairman, United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) will keynote the event. Co-Chairs include Congressmen Trent Franks, Heath Shuler, Gus Bilirakis, and Brad Sherman. Please join the IRF Caucus and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission for this showcase which will highlight religious communities throughout the Middle East. Come learn about their rich history and long presence in the region and the challenges their communities face today.
