IGE Webinar: Local and Global Models of Christian Peacemaking
Monday, December 14th, 9:00 am EST | via ZOOM | RSVP required | Webinar link will be circulated prior to webinar.
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of the “Prince of Peace,” IGE will convene a webinar featuring models of Christian peacemaking at home and abroad. Ever since Jesus proclaimed, “Blessed are the peacemakers” in the Sermon on the Mount, Christians have strived to follow that call to build peace and transform conflicts. Catholic organizations have done much work internationally, and the African American church has led at home. More nascent are Evangelical peacemaking efforts. And despite the excellent efforts of so many, conflicts continue to grow. More work is needed around the world and at home.
IGE Senior Fellow Knox Thames will moderate a panel featuring:
- Dr. Johnny Hill, Dean, Shaw University School of Divinity
- Christy Anastas, Co-founder, i61Collective and IGE Center for Women, Faith, & Leadership Fellow
- Father Fadi Daou, President, Adyan Foundation, Lebanon
- Dr. Andrea Bartoli, President, Sant’Egidio Foundation for Peace and Dialogue
The panelists will share about their understanding of the Christian call to be peacemakers and how they and their organizations help bring peace and reconciliation. Questions will be taken from the audience at the end.
