Yin Yin Min

CWFL 2020-21 Myanmar Fellow

Yin Yin Min has worked in the non-profit humanitarian sector for more than 18 years with different government institutions as well as non-governmental organizations. She belongs to the Shan ethnic minority group of Myanmar and was born in Lashio, the Northern State of Burma (Myanmar). Yin received her Masters Degree in Gender and Development Studies from the Asia Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand where she conducted research on Women’s political representation in a democratizing Myanmar. She received an “Alastair. N. North” Award from AIT for outstanding academic performance during her study. Yin also participated in various regional and international programs related to women in leadership, women’s empowerment and inclusive governance in different countries. Yin is currently working as a Technical Head of the Business Coalition for Gender Equality (BCGE) to promote workplace gender equality in corporate sectors. She has also worked at the VNG International as a Gender and Social Inclusion Expert for mainstreaming gender, empowering women and vulnerable populations to effectively engage in decision making of municipal governance in Myanmar.
