Board of Directors Announces Global Search for Chief Executive Officer
The world is experiencing the worst persecution, harassment, and displacement of faith communities since World War II. However, during these turbulent times, IGE has become not only a thought leader in the field of religion and global affairs but a respected practitioner working with local partners worldwide to enable an environment where people of different beliefs move beyond tolerance toward mutual respect and mutual reliance.
In order to best steward IGE’s current programs and impact, while simultaneously positioning IGE for even greater strategic impact, the IGE Board unanimously concluded that IGE has reached a critical transition point. As a result, IGE’s current President, Dr. Chris Seiple, will become the Board Chair, using that platform to speak more broadly into global affairs about the “IGE model” of engagement, while maintaining key relationships with partners and supporters. Second, IGE will hire a Chief Executive Officer with a practical passion for religious freedom to lead IGE’s day-to-day operations. This combined leadership, working alongside the IGE team and its global partners, will deepen and expand IGE’s impact amidst a world where intolerance is on the march.
“The Board and I are grateful for Chris Seiple’s visionary leadership and wise stewardship of IGE,” said current Board Chair, Ambassador Brady Anderson. “Under his leadership, the organization has established extraordinary access and impact in very challenging contexts abroad, while at the same time growing IGE’s reputation among scholars and foreign policy makers as a leading authority on the role of faith in international affairs. I look forward to turning over the mantle of Board Chair to him. With Chris’s continued vision, I am confident IGE will continue to address the need for religious freedom globally.”
IGE seeks a CEO to develop and execute the organization’s strategy, serve as a member of the board, and lead day-to-day operations. To ensure a seamless transition, Dr. Seiple will stay in his current CEO role until a replacement is found. Should this opportunity to lead stir your passion to work effectively for a world in which all people—of any faith or none—can bring their beliefs to discussions of practice and policy, contributing to the common good, then we invite you to apply.
