Bolormaa Oyunchimeg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at Mongolian University of Science and Technology, where she has been since 2002.  In 2020, Bolormaa began serving as Vice Dean of Research and Cooperation. She has been a co-founder of Legacy Research Institute since 2016. In 2020, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Quanzhou Maritime Museum in China. 

Bolormaa received a B.A and a M.A from National University of Mongolia in 2001 and 2003. She received her Ph.D. in History Science from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in 2007. Her research interests span both migration history and religious study. She is the author of three monographs which are about Oirat’s migration towards the Volga River in the 17th century and History of Christianity in Central Asia.
