Preparing the Next Generation of Global Leaders
The Institute for Global Engagement’s (IGE) Internship Program is designed to prepare young leaders to serve with integrity, compassion, and character. Through practical experience, professional mentorship, and a cohort-based learning environment, interns gain the skills, relationships, and perspective needed to lead in international affairs and global service.
The program is a part-time, semester-long, cohort-based internship for university students interested in the intersection of religion and international affairs.
Unlike a traditional research internship, interns learn IGE’s applied approach by actively participating in the organization’s work. Interns contribute to real programs, events, communications, research, and partnerships while gaining firsthand exposure to professionals working in Washington, DC, and the broader international affairs community.
Through this experience, interns are mentored and equipped to understand and practice relational diplomacy—building trust, cultivating meaningful relationships, and engaging complex global issues with humility and purpose.
