IGE Signs Agreement to Work with Pakistan’s NWFP
Islamabad – IGE visited Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province in October 2005 as guests of Chief Minister Akram Durrani. Because of a common commitment to religious freedom, social justice, and God, IGE agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chief Minister. The MOU was signed on October 9, 2005, just three months after Durrani’s first visit to the United States as a guest of IGE.
With this agreement, both parties are publicly and transparently committed to: 1) promoting religious freedom; 2) striving for the socio-economic enhancement of minorities; 3) exploring educational partnerships between the U.S. and Pakistan; and 4) engaging in ongoing, reciprocal visits of academic, religious, political and business leaders in order to promote mutual understanding between our respective countries and faiths.
