Ria Shim

Program Coordinator

Ria Shim is the Program Coordinator for the Institute for Global Engagement and also serves as the Program Assistant for the Center for Women, Faith, and Leadership (CWFL).

Ria holds a M.A. in Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College. She is the Program Coordinator at IGE where she has the privilege of directing the internship program and is also the Program Assistant to one of IGE’s key programs, the Center for Women, Faith and Leadership. Prior to her role at IGE, Ria served as a Youth Director in her local church in Illinois.

Having lived in four countries (India, South Korea, Denmark, and the United States) and embodying different cultures, Ria brings a cross-cultural perspective shaped by diverse global communities. She is passionate about creating spaces where individuals from all backgrounds feel welcomed and is deeply committed to upholding the dignity of every individual, recognizing that while people come from different cultures, languages, and stories, each person bears the image of God.
