Center for Women, Faith & Leadership Welcomes 5th Distance Learning Cohort to the Global Multifaith Fellowship

This September, IGE’s Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL) welcomed the fifth Distance Learning cohort to the Global Multifaith Fellowship. The Distance Learning track will meet online, with bi-weekly sessions through June 2025. Fellows include twenty Catholic Sisters, Muslim, and protestant women from twelve countries, including China, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Iraq, Kenya, Monaco, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, and Uganda.

“We are excited about the fantastic women joining us worldwide. They brought great joy for learning and leading at orientation in September. As we introduce them on social media in the coming weeks, I hope you follow the posts and learn about each Fellow,” said Dr. Margaret Weber, CWFL Program Director.

The Global Multifaith Fellowship is built on three pillars: Identity Exploration as a Pathway to Resilient Leadership, Skill-building for Global Leadership Advancement, and Holistic Self-care for Sustainable Leadership. Each training session delves into a component of one of these pillars and focuses on advancing leadership skills, faith building, or providing effective mental health and self-care strategies. This year’s trainers are CWFL staff, Dr. Margaret Weber and Kyrsten Turner, and CWFL Senior Fellows, Kristen Lundquist Mahosky, Afeefa Syeed, and Kristen Roeters. These leaders will also be joined by Rev. Cassandra Lawrence, Dr. Erin Clifford, and Hurunnessa Fariad.

Last year the Fellowship program introduced special sessions–optional trainings that were open to alumni of the Fellowship. CWFL looks forward to continuing special sessions this year, fostering meaningful space for networking and relationship-building between Fellows and alums.

The Capstone initiative, typically associated with the Hybrid track of the program, is also being built into the Distance Learning program for the first time this year. Fellows will research an issue affecting women unique to their community, with various solutions to the problem. At the end of the program, Fellows will have an action plan they can begin to implement to address the issue and make an impact.
