Center for Women, Faith & Leadership Hosts Spring 2025 Workshop in Vietnam
From March 8-13, IGE’s Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL) hosted its Spring 2025 workshop in Hanoi, Vietnam. The workshop was attended by eight of CWFL’s current Fellows: women leaders of Muslim, Catholic, and Buddhist faith from Cameroon, Egypt, Italy, Mauritius, Nigeria, Thailand, the United States, and Uzbekistan.
CWFL’s workshop ran parallel to IGE’s conference marking its 20-year progress on Religion and Rule of Law in Vietnam. CWFL Fellows and IGE scholars had the opportunity to network and visited several historical religious sites in the Ninh Binh province together. The cohort also heard from a faculty member of the Institute for Religious Studies at Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
CWFL fellows engaged in three days of leadership training on religious literacy, mental health, storytelling, leadership advocacy, and other topics. All sessions were designed to emphasize one of CWFL’s three core pillars: identity exploration, skill-building for leadership advancement, and holistic self-care for sustainable leadership.
This year’s cohort runs January through December and will a second international workshop to take place in October. Until then, Fellows will continue to meet online every month to engage in facilitated trainings on advancing as women of faith leaders and peacebuilders in their community.
