Emily P. White is a junior undergraduate student at Pepperdine University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a Global Politics specialization and a minor in French. Emily is a proud member of the Pepperdine Global Fellows and Debate Co-Curricular programs, which have enhanced her academic focus in international relations, foreign policy, and the role of faith and culture in global engagement. Beyond that, her interest in the French language, Middle Eastern history, and global cultures led her to study abroad at Pepperdine’s Switzerland and DC campuses, where she had the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe and Africa.
Emily has a strong passion for fostering cross-cultural appreciation and strengthening civil society through dialogue, service, and relationship-building. Since middle school, Emily has been deeply committed to volunteering as a musician and leader in her church worship band. These experiences laid the foundation for her commitment to sharing diverse perspectives and uplifting communities through service. Her leadership roles as a Worship Coordinator for Pepperdine International Programs and as an Executive Board Intern with Pepperdine’s Hub for Spiritual Life have shaped her commitment to engaging faith communities as meaningful actors in local and broader contexts.
Drawing on her academic endeavors, international experience, and background in faith-based leadership, Emily is excited to join the Institute for Global Engagement to deepen her understanding of religious freedom, peacemaking, and civic participation. She looks forward to learning from IGE’s work advancing freedom of faith worldwide and contributing to its mission of building lasting relationships across cultures and belief systems.
