IGE Awarded Three Grants from The John Templeton Foundation
IGE is honored to announce that we recently received funding from The John Templeton Foundation across three different grants. Two of the grants were awarded for IGE to conduct research on religion and the rule of law in Asia over a three-year period. We will be working in partnership with the International Center for Law and Religion Studies (ICLRS) at Brigham Young University (BYU). The third grant awarded affirms IGE’s thought leadership and original scholarship by providing funding for IGE’s quarterly journal, The Review of Faith & International Affairs. The grant will fund a series of 4 issues of the journal and a corresponding series of 4 invitation-only lectures in Washington, D.C. The themes will include:
-
Fall 2012: Strategies of Advocacy for International Religious Freedom
- Winter 2012: The Rise of Shari’a: Implications for Democracy and Freedom
- Spring 2013: Religious Freedom in the Study and Practice of U.S. Foreign Policy: The Decade Past and the Road Ahead
- Summer 2013: Religious Freedom Research in East/Southeast Asian Studies
