LeAnna Baker is a Religion and Politics double major with a minor in Poverty and Human Capability Studies at Washington and Lee University. She is passionate about the philosophy of religion, the intersection of religion and politics, and the study of faith-based social justice efforts in both global and local contexts.
LeAnna has studied migration and religious pluralism in Tunisia and Italy, completed community outreach work for an NGO in Cape Town, South Africa, and recently interned with the U.S. Department of State’s Strategic Religious Engagement Unit. A committed leader and community builder, she serves as a Resident Advisor and works to foster welcoming, supportive spaces on campus. She is also engaged in service initiatives that address food insecurity, sustainability, and equitable resource access in rural Virginia.
LeAnna hopes to deepen her understanding of how multifaith collaboration, religious engagement, and relational diplomacy can advance more just, inclusive, and culturally responsive policy. She is excited to learn from practitioners working at the intersection of religion and international affairs and to observe how religion is understood and implemented as a tool in policy, diplomacy, and justice.
