IGE is pleased to announce that Agaba Bisengo has joined IGE as an Executive Assistant to the President. In this exciting new capacity, Agaba will perform administrative tasks for the Institute’s President. Prior to coming to IGE, Agaba worked as a Research Coordinator for the Corporate Executive Board, a best practices research firm serving over 3,700 leading corporations and nonprofit institutions. She supported three program leaders with editing, client communication, and meeting planning. Agaba is also actively involved in her community, where she serves as a youth coordinator. She organizes youth activities, leads fundraising events, and coordinates community meetings.

Agaba was born in Kinshasa-Congo to parents who were refugees from Rwanda. She grew up in Uganda, the second child of six children. Two of her siblings were killed in the Rwandan genocide. Agaba earned her B.A. in political science from Messiah College in 2006 and is interested in getting a masters degree in International Affairs in the near future. She currently lives in Silver Spring, MD, with her husband Alexis Sharangabo and their 17 month-old son, Mihigo. Agaba enjoys hanging out with friends and discussing the future of Africa, and Rwanda in particular.
