Hannah Hawley
Intern
Hannah Hawley is a rising second-year law student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law, where she is pursuing a Juris Doctor with a certificate in International and Comparative Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a double minor in International Business and Pre-Law Studies from Azusa Pacific University in Spring 2024. Her passion for international policy grew through a study abroad program across the European Union in Summer 2023, and deepened during a Global Engagement trip to Thailand in Summer 2024, where she worked with local churches and underserved communities.
Hannah is currently interning at the Institute for Global Engagement to explore how non-governmental organizations can support international religious freedom and empower communities through policy, diplomacy, and strategic programming. She is particularly interested in how international law and faith-based diplomacy intersect to promote peacebuilding and human rights.
At Richardson Law, Hannah serves as President of the Black Law Students Association, where she advocates for equity and excellence in legal education. She previously interned with the law school’s Immigration and Refugee Law Clinic, providing pro bono support to vulnerable populations. In the coming year, she will compete as a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team and extern at the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court, where she will continue to sharpen her legal writing and analytical skills.
Looking ahead, Hannah hopes to pursue a career at the intersection of international law, human rights, and ethical diplomacy, advancing justice and religious freedom worldwide.
