IGE is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust for its Vision and Call Internship Program. This grant will support the expansion of IGE’s Washington, D.C. internship program beginning summer 2019. Christian university students will have the opportunity to participate in a unique program integrating spiritual, professional, and leadership development in the fields of religious freedom, security, and peacebuilding in a global context.

Vision & Call’s purpose is three-fold: to provide a transformative learning experience; to increase the pool of talented emerging leaders entering the workforce; and, to educate and empower a commitment to young leadership development on the part of Christian organizations. Through IGE’s internship program, young Christian students will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one mentorship and experience first-hand the field of international affairs and U.S. foreign policy as conducted in the nation’s capital. Interns will engage key government agencies and civil society groups both in the nation’s capital as well as in countries where IGE works.

IGE wishes to thank the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust for their support. The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, created by the will of the late Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock, provides grants to nonprofit organizations in five states of the Pacific Northwest—Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington—that seek to strengthen the region’s educational, social, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.

Further information about applying to IGE’s internship program will be posted online and in IGE’s monthly e-newsletter.

About IGE Founded in 2000, the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) works to catalyze freedom of faith worldwide so that people can live what they believe, free from persecution. IGE works in China, Vietnam, Laos, and the Middle East. IGE also features the Center for Women, Faith, & Leadership. The three main pillars of IGE’s approach are:

  1. The teachings of Jesus: IGE believes, shares and lives what Jesus taught us—love, acceptance and reconciliation lived in a way that seeks engagement and understanding for all;
  2. Religious Freedom: IGE overcomes obstacles of culture and religion by creating and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships, inviting all viewpoints to the table, working together as partners for the common good; and,
  3. Relational Diplomacy: Committed to universal human dignity, IGE works for a future when all people, of any faith or no faith, have freedom of belief and equal citizenship.

IGE believes that religious freedom is integral to a flourishing society and a stable state.
