IGE co-hosted two side-events alongside Christianity Today (CT) in order to describe more of why religious freedom matters in the domestic and global communities and how exactly IGE and others work to advance religious freedom.

From May 6 to 10 IGE and the Lao Front Department of Religious Affairs accompanied their Lao Peace Building Team to Hinboun District, Khammoune Province, Laos to conduct a five day peacebuilding workshop. 35 people from 11 different Lao government and religious organizations participated.

From March 27-28, IGE and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic co-convened the first-ever national conference on “Religion and the Rule of Law” in Vientiane.

During September and October 2018, IGE and the Laos government’s Ministry of Home Affairs’ Department of Ethnic and Religious Minorities (MOHA) jointly held three religious freedom seminars throughout the country, training a total of 165 religious leaders and government officials.
