On Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, the Institute for Global Engagement, the Religious Freedom Institute, and International Christian Voice cosponsored a virtual event to remember the life and legacy of Shahbaz Bhatti, on the 10th anniversary of his assassination.
On February 1st, the Burmese military arrested Myanmar’s top leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, along with several senior leaders from her party, the National League for Democracy (NLD). Please join IGE in praying for the safety and freedom of IGE’s Myanmar partners.

The government of Laos has awarded an official commendation to IGE’s Laos program officer Dr. Stephen Bailey for his work in peacebuilding and conflict transformation in the country.
On December 15th, 2020, IGE’s CWFL marked the graduation of its first-ever Distance Learning Fellowship Cohort. The Distance Learning Fellowship has expanded the global reach of CWFL’s successful flagship fellowship program to participants in countries that would otherwise encounter barriers in traveling to the United States.
From December 14-16, 2020, IGE held a Religion & Rule of Law training program. The training program represents the second collaborative effort between IGE, ICLRS, and KBC after the success of the inaugural training held the previous year in Mandalay. Due to the pandemic, this year’s training was held online.
