IGE Delegation Returns from Visit to Pakistan

At the invitation of the Iqbal Institute for Research and Dialogue at the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Dr. Chris Seiple gave two lectures on 11 and 12 January 2010. The first lecture, "Trends in American Evangelicalism:  Implications for Engaging Islam," was given to an invite-only selection of scholars from the National School of Shari'a (Islamic jurisprudence) and the National School of Da'wa (Islamic missiology) at the Islamic University. The second lecture, "Justice as a Bridge between Christian and Muslim Misunderstanding," was given to the faculty and students of the social sciences at Islamic University. Dr. Seiple was also privileged to appear on the national security talk show, "Insight with Dr. Riffat," where he discussed U.S. policy in Afghanistan.

Upon his return, Dr. Seiple offered reflections and recommendations at the The Christian Science Monitor on the three things that the U.S. must understand in order to end the Taliban insurgencies on both sides of the Afghan-Pakistani border: respect, reconciliation, and religious freedom.
