IGE President discusses “Muslims in the West” before Congressional Staffers

Print

On 11 June 2009, IGE President Chris Seiple was featured on a panel discussion entitled "Muslims in the West: A Discussion at the Intersection of National Security & Faith."

The discussion, which was moderated by IGE Senior Fellow Suhail Khan and included remarks by Congressman Keith Ellison (the first Muslim Member of Congress), focused attention on the active participation of faith communities in democracy, including the growing number of Muslims in Western democracies such as the U.S. Additionally, the panel considered issues associated with the West's ongoing engagement with the Muslim-majority world.
